What we do

Since it was formed in 1983 by the Harley-Davidson Motor Company, membership of the Harley Owners Group® has grown to over a million members around the world, and 110,000 members in Europe, Middle East and Africa.

As well as joining the national H.O.G.® organisation, members have the option to join their local H.O.G. Chapter also. Each Chapter is sponsored by the local Harley-Davidson® dealer, allowing a ‘close to the customer’ approach and the opportunity for H.O.G. members to meet fellow enthusiasts, as well as to participate in the numerous Chapter activities.

Most Chapters hold monthly meetings, organise regular recreational and touring rides and participate in fund-raising activities. The Muscular Dystrophy Campaign has been the charity of choice since H.O.G.’s inception, but most Chapters raise funds for a variety of local community needs by a variety of methods, including fund-raising rallies and Toy Runs.

Chapters are invited to join in friendly competition with each other at national and international H.O.G. rallies and events. There are currently around 1,500 H.O.G. Chapters around the globe. To recognise and encourage the increasing role played by women in the world of Harley®, female enthusiasts can become members of Ladies of Harley™ (LOH). There is no additional charge to join Ladies of Harley.

Recognising its members as true travellers, if a H.O.G.® member travels to practically any major city they can rent a Harley-Davidson® on a daily or weekly basis under the Authorized Rentals scheme.

Some H.O.G. benefits available to members mirror those offered by the major auto clubs, such as the comprehensive H.O.G. Assistance recovery scheme for H.O.G. members’ motorcycles. There are also special insurance and finance schemes for H.O.G. members (not applicable in all countries). EMEA members also have preferential access to goods and services such as hotel bookings. H.O.G. is constantly seeking new benefits and is frequently able to offer discounts on useful products and services through the magazine HOG® .

H.O.G. organises many major events throughout the region including Africa Bike Week®, the Ladies of Harley rally and Touring Rides in France, Spain, Germany and many more countries;

To be a full member of H.O.G. you must own a Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Membership for one year is included in the purchase of a new motorcycle.
Associate members – regular passengers or family members of a full H.O.G. member – can obtain most of the benefits of full H.O.G. membership, excluding the bi-monthly mailings.
